Manuals and Standards
Manuals and standards govern how Bureau staff write, classify, and file. They are published because a standard that cannot be cited cannot be enforced. Members of the public are not required to comply with them and are nonetheless bound by the results.

Historical Accuracy Style Manual, Revision 12.4
Required usage for all Bureau publications. Approved tenses, event finality, permitted use of alleged, capitalization, the serial comma, and the construction that is not printed.
Required workplace posting
Notice to all employees
The past is final. Report any observed variance to your supervisor before discussing it with a colleague. Two independent observations may become one corroborated observation.
This notice must be displayed where employees can see it, in a location that has always displayed it.
