The Historical Accuracy Enforcement Bureau is fictional. Nothing on this site is a government publication, and nothing on it is legal, medical, financial, employment, or emergency advice. No page creates an obligation for you, and no page grants us any authority over you.
If you are looking for guidance on a real matter, this is not the place, and no artifact here should be relied upon for anything.
No transactions, no accounts
There is nothing to buy, no subscription, no account, and no payment field anywhere on this site. If a page appears to ask you for payment details, it is not ours.

The interactive products run entirely in your browser and transmit nothing. See the privacy notice. Because nothing is submitted, nothing is published, and we hold no user content of any kind.
The historical material
The real historical facts referenced here belong to the historical record. The source notes point at the archives, libraries, and museums that hold the primary material, and those institutions’ own terms govern their content, not ours.
The invented material
The Bureau, its staff, its documents, and the writing on this site are original creative work. Quote it, screenshot it, and link it freely. If you reproduce an artifact somewhere it might be mistaken for a genuine government document, carry the satire attribution with it. That is the only condition that matters to us, and it exists for the reader’s benefit rather than ours.

The site is provided as it is, with no guarantee of availability, and with no warranty of any kind. Pages may change or be withdrawn. Despite what the homepage claims about 99.9997 percent availability, we make no representation that the past, or this site, will remain reachable.
Changes
These terms may be revised. Revisions take effect when published, and unlike the Current Approved Past, they do not take effect retroactively.
